1) How am I eligible for this scholarship?

4) Will my university programme be hampered if I take up this task
If you are a selected candidate offers will be made to you for the volunteering work to be done. Only if you accept the offer made, would you be expected to execute the work. Therefore, your acceptance should be very carefully given so that your study is not hampered. The reason why the option of acceptance or rejection is given is to ensure that you do not compromise on your study. This scholarship is to help you financially in your education abroad. Also make note to accept the offers carefully because you may lose credits if you accept and don’t execute the volunteer work.
5) Who all are the authorities of giving the scholarship?
This initiative – Apropos Gumption is an initiative by WTPL an incubatee company of the Science and Technology Park, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.
WTPL reserves the rights to award scholarships to candidates based on the decision of the selection board of WTPL as it deems fit, eligible and appropriate.
6) Who all are the beneficiaries for the scholarship?

7) Is my parent university aware of this plan? Is it legal?
This private scholarship is aimed at providing services on volunteering basis with complete authenticity and transparency. Yes it is completely legal. Candidates can receive scholarships awarded.
8) How is my parent university involved in this?
Your parent university is not involved in the decision-making, selection or any other process but for authentication services of the data provided by the applicant, we may contact the university to establish authentication.
9) Will my parents be involved in this process? And how?
This scholarship is awarded to candidates where the awarded candidates may have an option to ask us to send the scholarship amount to their parents / guardians in India. Beyond this there is no involvement of your parents in this process.

11) What is the time span of the task involved?
Any volunteering offer made shall not exceed more than 4 hours at a time.
12) How will we receive scholarships?
If you are awarded the scholarship a demand draft will be drawn on your name and sent to you or your parents as you have specified on your profile. A scanned copy of which will be updated to your profile.
13) Can I discontinue the task and the amount for the time spent or the whole amount is forfeited?

14) Can I further continue to get the scholarship for the whole year?
Generally scholarships and financial aid are rarely received in the first semester and have limitations for the first year. Apropos Gumption scholarships aim to award scholarships within this timeframe only, since post 1st semester and 1st year, generally most international students receive scholarships.
ApGump-Prime is the scholarship for the first year students as per the eligibility criteria.
ApGump-Insta is for the first semester.

18) What kind of account will be needed?
No specific requirement in this. You can deposit the demand draft in any account.
19) Under what circumstances this scholarship will be forfeited?
You are awarded scholarship only after completion of the selection criteria therefore there is no question of forfeiting the scholarship amount unless the Force majeure clause.
20) Are there specific timings for the job? How many Hr/day?

21) How will my task be documented?
All volunteering sessions will be recorded and graded.
22) For how long time can I avail this?
Both scholarships put together maximum one year.
23) What are the equipments involved?
To execute any volunteering work you will need to have a Windows compatible PC or Laptop with Webcam, Headphone with Mic and Internet connectivity of 256 Kbps of higher.
24) What does ApGump mean?
The words Apropos Gumption means “Relevant initiative”. The basic Idea is the Qualified Indians reaching USA for education should be helped in their burden for financially funding their education, which is a problem generally only in the first year. These candidates have an exposure beyond the reach of Indian students, which we believe should be shared by volunteering to help.

26) Do I have to meet the authorities in person or they can be furnished only?
In ApGump – Prime, You have personal interview level, where you might get the opportunity to meet few of the decision makers.
27) Can this facility be available by any other student of different nationality if he/she is in need?

28) What is the exact nature of the task? Will I have to go through any training? Please explain the exact nature of the task.
The volunteer work could
involve teaching English language, mentoring children towards
simple subjects, helping solve queries, answering to questions
regarding your subject which you have specialized in and
various other activities. Yes there would be a training of how to deliver as and when required.
29) If Yes, What is the duration?
Training session do not exceed one hour, You would get Dos and Don’ts for execution of the offer in advance.
30) How many hours I will have to work per week?
There is absolutely no compulsion or ceiling to the hours of volunteer work. A volunteering offer essentially consists of: 1. the kind of work 2. the hours of work 3. the schedule of when the work has to be executed and an option to ACCEPT or REJECT the offer based on your availability and interest.
Each hour of work would earn you extra credit points which would in turn help you to compete in achieving a position in the top 5% of the award winners every fortnight. The volunteering work is essentially online only.
31) What kind of volunteer work will be required and with whom I will have to work?

32) For how long do I need have to work?
As mentioned earlier please accept only those schedules which are executable and suitable as per your free time.
